Government's Freedom from Violence and Abuse Strategy (2026)
The Government's Freedom from Violence and Abuse Strategy and accompanying action plan (updated May 2026) place significant emphasis on local multi-agency working to deliver the ambition of halving violence against women and girls within a decade.
The strategy is likely to influence local BCSSP priorities for the Community Safety Partnership through:
- Prevention and early intervention activity.
- Better information sharing.
- Multi-agency perpetrator management.
- Coordination between community safety, safeguarding, health and criminal justice partners.
