Delivering the Children's Social Care Reset

This webinar pack provides an overview of the Department for Education’s Children’s Social Care Reset implementation plan and is intended to help local authorities, health partners, police and safeguarding partnerships understand and prepare for upcoming reforms. It outlines the Government’s vision for transforming children’s social care, the legislative changes being introduced through the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026, and the practical steps local partners will need to take to implement reforms over the coming years.

The reforms focus on strengthening early help and family support through the Families First Partnership Programme, improving multi-agency safeguarding arrangements, enhancing information sharing, and increasing support for kinship carers, foster carers and care leavers. Backed by significant national investment, the programme aims to improve outcomes for children and families through prevention, stronger partnership working and a more sustainable care system. The webinar also highlights the support available to local areas, including improvement teams, expert advisers and national facilitators, to help partners deliver and embed these changes.
